Why you should require Customer 1 or Member 1

Requiring that a person (customer, member, passenger, etc.) be selected for a reservation has some very important benefits:


1. You'll be able to lookup upcoming appointments and reservation history for the selected person

2. The person will receive reservation confirmations and reminders which helps ensure they arrive at appointments on time.

3. If the person is ever given access to log in, they'll be able to see their own upcoming reservations and history online.

4. You'll collect basic contact information when the person is added, so they can be followed up with at a later date.

Not requiring a person to be selected for reservations can lead to poor records: reservations are left out in the cold on the schedule, attached to no one. You won't be able to pull up reservation history for a person, and they won't receive notifications about their appointment.

We recommend that new people be added to the system prior to booking their first appointment. It takes a bit of extra time up front but makes for much better records going forward.
